“What if I fall? Oh,but my darling, what if you fly?”

This classic quote from Erin Hanson had me thinking. How many people let the fear of failure stop them from getting on stage in front of an audience and performing? You think about all the things that can go wrong and you never think of what could go right. You could get a standing ovation; you could have audience members coming up to you after saying how much they loved your performance. However you think about forgetting your lyrics, falling over or the audience not liking you.

I always remember the film 'Coyote Ugly' where the lead character Violet, suffered from stage fright. Her goal was to be a songwriter for other artists but didn't want to perform. Her stage fright came from singing her original songs. At the beginning of the video below she's about to sing her original song but then stops as the stage fright kicks in. Then the lights go off and she starts singing. As she gets a positive reaction she became more and more confident. The film ended with LeAnn Rimes performing the song she wrote. Just imaging Violet, let her stage fright and fears get the better of her and she never performed. If you try something out of your comfort zone yeah it may go wrong but what if it goes right?

I also love the lyrics in this song ' Aeroplanes part 2' by B.O.B featuring Hayley Williams and Eminem. It talks about if they didn't get past all the obstacles that has made them a success.
